There are a few karaoke bars and 3 public gardens in the vicinity which are big and not free but worth the money. So no, even those hating the sun will find something. But it's more for relaxation, for enjoying the healthy sea air and so it's nothing "spectacular" to impress the colleagues. People are usually very friendly but English is not always spoken once in the countryside. Why would they learn it if they don't own a store or so??

I initially went to Rosas as a boy when it had only one small seafront pension style hotel, the Hostal del Port - the first of the tourist hotels (Hotel Goya) opened a couple or so years later. This was before the package holidays starting from the early 1960s and onwards TOTALLY transformed this sleepy Catalan fishing village into the resort it now is.

Will be visiting very soon…
